A recent article in Grounds Maintenance Magazine said that frequent light topdressing on golf greens actually helped improve ball roll. The University of Nebraska and Penn State where both quoted in the article. The article said that topdressing greens lightly 7-8 times a year would improve ball roll. Penn State also added the importance of working the topdressing into the soil on the green.
