The Tru-Flo™ 24D is a push-type lawn drop spreader designed for operators to get into tight areas and spread dry topdressing materials. It was designed with landscaping contractors in mind and is built to handle any job. Our commercial drop spreaders can be used by homeowners for residential purposes as well.
The 24D lawn drop spreader can spread materials with up to 30% moisture content. Baseball coaches use 24D to spread infield mix on their baselines and for spot repairs on the turf areas. Synthetic turf installers use the 24D to spread sand and crumbed rubber on putting greens and to do finish work on larger sports fields. It’s the perfect compact spreader, ideal for use with USGA spec sand, or a product that’s designed to flow nicely.
The key to successful spreading is to run dry materials that will flow through the small gate. As a rule of thumb, anything that will run between your fingers would spread through the 24D. If the materials have more moisture, the machine may need to be shaken or bumped to spread them out—a leveling rake will assist in a well-finished spread. The Tru-Flo 24D lawn drop spreader function is simple: a four-wheel stance, the front wheels are used for ground drive power, and the operator will lean it onto the back wheels for transport without spreading. Fill the unit with dry topdressing material and tip it on its back two wheels to move it without spreading. When you arrive at the area you want to topdress, set the unit down on all four wheels and begin to push it. The forward wheels start turning the dispersal drum and spread the material onto the surface in an even 22-24″ width.
