Green Wagon Farms loves their Earth & Turf raised bed spreader!
Green Wagon Farm began in 2010–by our founder and co-owner, Chad Anderson. Chad farmed while in the Peace Corps in Uganda and at Groundswell Farm in Zeeland before launching his own operation. Now, Chad runs the farm with his wife, Heather, who has a culinary background. They have two small children and an farm-worker crew of two to eight, depending on the time of year. Green Wagon Farm is eleven acres of certified organic vegetables and herbs going on seventeen. We are constantly trying to make our systems more efficient and ecological.
We sell our goods Saturdays throughout the year at Fulton St. Farmers Market, through our three CSA programs–22 weeks, 50 weeks, and a flexible Saturday market-style option. We also have a working-share option (with a discount on the weekly share price). We also sell to Cherry Capital, a MI distributor, Harvest Health Food stores, and several restaurants, whom we work with closely.
We are currently expanding our year-round production through hoophouses and low-tunnels so we can provide organic vegetables to our West Michigan community, even in the depths of winter. We’ve developed quite a following for our winter greens at market, and hope to continue to expand our Year-Round CSA–which is currently at 40 members (and a short waiting list).
We happily take new CSA members at any time during the season for a prorated price. We love to introduce our community to locally produced food & provide a weekly newsletter with tips and tricks to eating the harvest (with chefs on staff, we have lots of ideas!) And we accommodate food stamp payments as well!
We are passionate about growing really nutrient-dense, delicious, beautiful food and providing our crew with fair wages (and hopefully year-round someday!)
Tools like yours allow us to do that, and we’re grateful for your support of small farms like ours.
