In a recent CNN.com Article earth worms were touted as possible saviors of our environment and soil. Worms eat about their body weight in Organic matter every day. The waste from worms is very beneficial to the soil. The problem is many of our soils today lack organic matter so there is little for the worms to eat. Spreading organic matter on lawns with a Topdresser helps solve the problem because you are spreading worm food. Remember a healthy balanced soil produces a more healty lawn. So go dig up a shovel full of soil in your yard and see if you have any worms. If it doesn’t look good contact your local lawncare professional and begin a topdressing program.
