I just read an article in Sports Turf Magazine about maintaining Synthetic Fields. The main discussion was the infill level. Over time the infill level decreases and when it does it exposes more of the turf fiber which in turn causes premature wear. The amount of topdressing with new infill is generally not heavy but it is necessary for proper field maintenance. Our new brush attachment for our 54D Truflow spreader really does the job. The material is spread ahead of the brush system and then the two brushes, one in the front and one in the back, work the infill into the turf fibers with minimal hand brushing required. The 54D sells for under $3,000.00 with the brush kit. The price makes it a very affordable piece of equipment for maintenance professionals and one with a quick payback.
